How much does a CP12 renewal cost?
A fixed £90, inc. VAT (£75 + £15 VAT). No quotes, no call-out fees.
When am I actually charged?
Your card is authorised when you request a booking, but only charged once a Gas Safe registered network engineer accepts the job. If nobody accepts, the hold is released automatically and you're not charged.
Can I cancel a booking?
Yes, for free, at any point before a network engineer accepts it. Once accepted, see the no-show and failed-access policy below.
What happens if the network engineer doesn't turn up?
You get a full refund, and it's recorded against the network engineer's account.
What if the network engineer attends but can't get into the property?
The network engineer is paid a reduced fee for the wasted visit, and you're refunded the rest.
How are network engineers vetted?
Every network engineer uploads a photo of their Gas Safe ID card at signup, which we cross-check against the registration number and name they enter using AI-assisted reading plus manual review before they can accept any paid job. There's no public API to check a registration automatically, so this isn't a substitute for your own judgement — you can always check a network engineer yourself at gassaferegister.co.uk.
I'm an engineer — how do I join?
GasRelay is invite-only for engineers. Get in touch and we'll send you a signup link.
I'm a VAT-registered engineer — do I need to invoice GasRelay for each job?
No. Under the self-billing agreement you accept in your account settings, GasRelay raises the VAT invoice on your behalf automatically after every job — nothing for you to do.
